Season of Reflection
As we are all aware of, today is Ash Wednesday, and consequently, it’s also the start of the Lenten season.
I don’t know what you believe in or how your religion does it, but I suggest that we all have a moment of reflection before we sleep tonight. Reflect on the real meaning of the season. The real meaning of Christ’s death for us, and what this actually means for our lives.
What’s the real reason of Christ’s death?
And after knowing the true reason, what does this mean to us personally?
Why did He die for you? For all of us?
Ask yourself these questions. May this season be a season of thinking and deep reflection of the true meaning of being a ‘Christian’. Because we all know that SIMPLY BELIEVING is not enough.
Also, if it’s not too hard, let’s also do our best to fast or abstain from certain things. Usually, when people fast, they do not eat food. But for us, we can do it in another way. As what my friend had told me earlier, any way is PROPER or RIGHT as long as we do it for the Lord. We can fast by abstaining from that ONE THING that we can’t really live without on a normal basis. Or, if we have a bad habit that we really want to get rid ourselves of, now is also the time to start on it.
Remember, we’re doing all these as commemoration of the GREATEST SACRIFICE ever done in history. Not logging in your Facebook account for a week as a form of fasting is just a small thing compared to what He has done for us. :)
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so FAITH WITHOUT WORKS is dead also.” (James 2:26)
Let’s continue praising God! God bless everyone! Hallelujah to the One above!
