Do you sometimes feel like you’re being pressured by the people around you?

Conformity is defined as an action in accord with prevailing social standards, attitudes, practices, etc.; Correspondence in form, nature, or character; Agreement, congruity, or accordance.

In this generation, we are unconsciously controlled by the world. The wrong becomes the right, the bad becomes the good. Most of us have lost what we call INTEGRITY, a Concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one’s actions. Because of that, we can’t differentiate the right from the wrong or vice versa.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

That is a command from God. It means we are ought to do it, whatever the cost it may take. The Lord is trying to teach us how to live the life of integrity. And this is the 1^st step, DO NOT CONFORM TO THE PATTERNS OF THE WORLD. For the world is ruled by men who are sinful in nature and what we should be aiming to follow is God’s word- which is our only path leading to his kingdom.

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

We sometimes feel afraid to do things we know that are right. That is because we are concerned by what people might see. Remember that only God knows about us, about what is in our hearts. People are people. They will judge and belittle anyone they like. We can’t please everybody because it is only God whom we should be pleasing.

DON’T LIVE BY THE EXPECTATIONS OF OTHERS. Stand firm to His gospel and promises. God can do greater things in your life, more than you’ll ever know.
