How are your decisions made?

One of the lessons in our church that really gave an impact to me.

Are the decisions in our lives really powerful?

Aside from Jesus Christ being God’s gift to us, another gift has also been given to us. And it is the power of making decisions.

God made us superior over other creations. What we differ with animals is that He gave us the power and privilege of having our own choice and He respects that. He gave us the Free Will.

But what if our decisions brought us to harm?

Simple answer: We are not guided by God’s word during these times.

So, how can we live a life full of spirit-filled decisions?

1. Choose not to say NEGATIVE words.

WORDS can give a huge impact in our lives, just as His words are so powerful. So, how can we manage our words? According to James 1:19-21, My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Watch your words, for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Choose positive and encouraging words!

2. Choose not to FEAR!

Fear can make you paralyzed. It is not just an emotion, it is a spirit. It is by faith that we can overcome the spirit of fear. Joshua 1:5 says, No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Choose to be courageous and remember that God is always with us. When we are with God, nothing and no one can ever stand against us. Have a spirit of a conqueror!

3. Choose not to live according to your Past.

We should break records! Move on with the past and choose to forget it! REACH YOUR GOALS! As 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! Be in Christ so you can move forward!

4. Choose not to be Offended.

Choose to forgive for an offense is a trap and we should not be dwelling in it. A brother wronged is more unyielding than a fortified city;  disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel as Proverbs 18:19 says. Everything works for the good together.

Dependence.  Dependence on God is the bottom line here. If we know how to humble ourselves and depend on God, He’ll surely reveal to us His wonderful plan.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Depending on Him means we trust Him.

God bless everyone!
